Dance Classes for Children

Many children begin dancing to music at a young age - making rhythmic movements, bouncing and clapping along to a song on the radio. As children, many young girls fantasize about becoming professional ballerinas. Young boys often lean towards hip hop and other expressive movements in dance.

Although most children enjoy dancing as a way to express themselves for fun, most won't become professional dancers. However, there's no need to push them into dancing if they're not interested or to damper their spirits if they do desire to be a professional dancer. To embrace their desire and ability to move to the music, enroll them in dance classes and see where their dreams take them.

If your child has serious ambitions of becoming a professional dancer, their training will become extremely rigorous, usually at around 12 years of age. Your child will be required to take classes five or six days per week, sometimes more than one class per day. Most professional dancers begin dancing full-time while their peers are finishing high school.

On the other hand, maybe your child would prefer to study ballet as a hobby, for the fun of it. One dance style, ballet, can be beneficial in many ways. Aside from giving a child an appreciation of music and dance, ballet also develops coordination and flexibility. It instills a certain amount of discipline, and provides children with friends of similar interests.

Many children want to mimic the famous dancers and styles they see on television shows such as 'Dancing With the Stars' and 'So You Think You Can Dance'. To be able to perform these intricate steps without making a fool of themselves is what most children (and adults!) strive for. In the East Valley, dance studios are teaching pupils how to master the art of dance at affordable prices. They offer a range of classes which enable students to choose from a wide variety of dance styles.

Selecting a local dance studio convenient to the Gilbert, Chandler, Mesa, and Tempe Arizona area, is probably easier than you'd expect. Chances are you have friends with kids who are taking or have already taken dance classes, so start by asking them for referrals and suggestions. Go online and search for local dance studios and read up on the kids' dance lessons they offer.

East Valley dance studios also teach adult singles as well as adult couples. Classes are held throughout the day and evening catering for people of all walks of life. Whether you're interested in dance lessons for your child or for yourself, sign up today and start moving to the music once again!
